Government of Canada Recognizes Resolute Forest Products as Socially Responsible Business Leader

We are pleased to announce Resolute has been recognized by the Government of Canada as a socially responsible business leader for our innovative community outreach initiatives.

Resolute won a Canada’s Volunteer Award in the Business Leader category for Quebec, one of the five regions covered by the program. The Awards recognize the significant contributions that volunteers, not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises and businesses across the country make to help people and their communities.

Our community engagement initiatives take many forms, including financial and material support, and countless volunteer hours by our employees. We are proud that through the initiatives, our employees have been inspired to make a difference in their communities.

In 2019, our donations and sponsorships at both the local and corporate levels totaled $1.36 million company-wide. In 2018 – the year for which we won the award – our Quebec employees raised C$200,000 for local organizations and hospitals through the annual Resolute golf tournament, while 53 Resolute employees shaved their heads to help raise C$98,000 for the On the Tip of Your Toes Foundation, which organizes therapeutic expeditions for young people living with cancer.
